About
I have over fourteen years of visual effects experience in feature film, commercials, and many fields, as a digital artist and concept designer.
More specifically I've produced artwork, matte painting and environments, dynamic and particle effects, modeling, lighting, rounded out by other key VFX disciplines. Some of my previous clients include Disney, 20th Century Fox, Marvel Studios, Sony Pictures Animation, Warner Bros. Pictures. This is while freelancing or working for studios including Lucasfilm/ILM, DreamWorks Animation, MPC, Sony Imageworks, Method Studios, and many more.
I grew up in New York all around art in general, but gravitated more naturally to technology at first, tinkering with some of the early IBM PS/2 desktops, in the 80s. I was an early adopter of VGA graphics thanks to being born to software engineers. It opened up a world of possibilities and created a lifelong love of pixels, games and anything graphics-related. This launched me to a degree in computer science, and a short career as a developer before switching to art and film full time.
These days, a lot of this stuff is more accessible and mainstream by definition. I keep sharp on the illustrative front, because I feel the best work comes from fresh ideas and design. I balance it by spending a more time off the grid, traveling (especially when living abroad), continuing to take photos, and running more out-of-the-box projects related to my field.
